PAW'S Workshop

12/09/2011. Philip & Nina attended the PAWS workshop at the Guide Dog Training Centre in Atherton.

This was a remarkable day as a parent of a child with autism where bringing a dog into the life of the child can have so much benefits.

PAWS has been set up by Dogs for the Disabled, to bring together the parents and carers of children with autism to share experiences and to explore the helping potential that a pet dog might have within their family.

Autumn is Nearly Upon Us!
 
Whilst we love the change is season's we need to be aware of the changes around us. The trees are dropping their leaves, the temperature is dropping, the nights are coming earlier and predictably a more windier and rainy time.
 
  • Therefore we need to be mindful of fallen leaves as they can be slippy.

  • We need to be wearing suitable clothing against the temperature

  • And we need to be mindful that the darker nights can affect our mood and we can be more isolated compared to the summer.

In February 2011 Care Direct Training Ltd was developed as part of our on-going committment to support and teach Social Work Students and other training requirements for social care.

Snow & Ice are a major hazard to customers, families and our staff.

During the winter period, we will make access easier and reduce the risk of a slip or fall.  

We will make a pathway from your door to the pavement and we will  provide the Grit-Salt to melt the snow and ice.

This service costs £20 including us supplying the Grit-Salt.
Care Direct responds to Skills for Care for exciting new research.

Care Direct News:

Care Direct respond to Skills for Care and The National Centre for Social Research in conducting major research to determine the workforce implications and employment aspects of people employing their own care & support.

In partnership with Salford City Council & Skills for Care, Care Direct customers have agreed to take part in a national social research project to quantify the size of the privately purchased home care market (for adults) and the size and nature of the workforce that is providing it.

Currently, there is no information on the number of people in England who buy care privately, either as their only source of care or to top up local authority or health provided services, what they buy and who from.

We wish to thank our customers who have agreed to take part in this on the 23rd June 2010.

At Swinton Park Golf Club
The Care Direct Team, recieved a Recognition Certificate today from the RT Worshipful The Mayor of the City of Salford, Councillor Roger Lightup.

The Care Direct Team is recognised "for their participation and involvement in the Partnership and their continuing commitment to the professional development of their workers"

Philip & Nina Duffy with their team staff truely appreciate the work undertaken by the Partnership in supporting us in maintaining our high standards and workforce development.
